Back to Basics Market was started by sisters Lia and Maria Ladas. Maria was informed that her four year old son had difficulty listening and processing information and as a concerned mum this alerted her to the fact that certain additives in food did in fact hinder this process. She doubtfully trialled a period of two weeks with no additives, and was blown away by the changes in his behaviour after only a week. He was later accurately diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder.

This experience compelled them to become passionate about health and wellbeing as a way of life. They also discovered the impact food has to heal and this prompted the logical progression of getting back to basics. Back to Basics Market evolved from the desire to provide ease of shopping, knowledge of products and to provide the nutritional requirements for our families as nature intended.
