We interviewed the Australian company EverEscents Organic Hair Care to find out more about the benefits of organic hair care products and what makes their company and products unique. 

Where is EverEscents Organic Hair Care based, and how long has the business been going?

EverEscents was the brainchild of Leone Martin from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland back in 2002. After 4 years of research and development EverEscents was launched at the Sydney Hair Expo and this year marks the tenth year of operation.

Why is it important that the ingredients in the EverEscents Organic Hair Care products are certified organic?

EverEscents has always been on a mission to create products that are safe for everyone in the family to use on a daily basis. There is no substitute for certified organic ingredients as they offer peace of mind by ensuring the absence of toxic chemicals.

What is unique about the range of EverEscents Organic Hair Care products?

We have some fantastic products that are not found elsewhere in the market and we are proud to be leading the way with these advanced formulations.  EverEscents has the first and only shampoo that balances the correct tone of blonde and grey hair without the use of artificial colour ingredients.  Another first of it’s kind product is a very useful hairspray that also works as a hair conditioner. One of the most popular aspects of the EverEscents range is that all products are safe to use on coloured hair which is unique for organic hair care products.

What are the benefits of using organic ingredients on our hair?

Our research has found that using organic ingredients creates a more powerful and concentrated formula which in turn means that the products are very effective even when only using a small amount. The most beneficial factor of an organic product is of course the absence of toxic and synthetic ingredients which results in a safer product for us and also the environment we live in.

Which of your products are your “best-sellers” and what do you attribute this to?

Our best seller is our Cinnamon and Patchouli range of shampoo, conditioner and deep treatment, we call it our golden hair child! The amazing aroma is hard to resist and the result of beautifully clean and tangle free hair keeps customers coming back for more.

Can you tell us about the other EverEscents Organic Hair Care products in your range?

We specialise in hair care, so our main range of products is shampoo and conditioner…the stuff we use everyday.  There’s also a great little range of 10 hair styling products that suit all hair types whether it be for young children or those a little more mature.

EverEscents is committed to operating an environmentally sustainable business. How do you ensure this?

We always consider our options when we purchase our raw ingredients and marketing supplies and often chose the supplier that can offer the most environmentally friendly option, not the cheapest option. We utilise some active recycling strategies with office supplies, cardboard boxes and we even capture the rain water from the roof and carpark of the head office and that water is used as grey water. EverEscents also buys carbon credits to offset our impact or business operations.

Can you tell us a bit about EverEscents stance on using palm oil in your hair care products?

EverEscents does not use any Palm Oil in our products and we are against the unconscionable actions of those companies that are procuring Palm Oil without fair trade practices in mind. EverEscents is a supporter of The Orangutan Project of Australia which works actively to protect the endangered areas of Borneo.
