Organic, raw honey is a fabulous alternative to refined sugar. It is unprocessed and retains all of its healthy enzymes, minerals and vitamins. On top of that, honey has antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it highly medicinal. Organic honey is grown in areas that are free of chemicals, pesticides or pollutants and the methods of removing the honey from the hive are humane. Organic honey bees are not given antibiotics or sugar and no pesticides are used inside the hives.
Another healthy sugar alternative is organic maple syrup which is known for its low calorie count and vitamin, mineral and antioxidant benefits.
