The majority of the chocolate and confectionary products on the shelves these days contain poor quality ingredients, and one may be tempted to avoid such products completely.

Ethical companies like Organic Times allow you to “have your cake and eat it too” and ensure the ingredients in their best-selling chocolate and cookie products are certified organic, fair-trade and additive-free, making them a healthier, tastier and more earth-friendly choice for you and your loved-ones.

We had a chat with Organic Times to find what makes their products a cut above the rest.

Where are you based, and how long has your business been going?
Our business is currently located in Eltham Victoria.
We are a family (a bunch of relatives who are mad about great food, footy, animals, clean water,  and fresh air that have been brought up to be just good honest people) owned business established in 1999.  OT is 15 years old.

Where did the idea for your business come from and how did you get started?
When you have the most amazing chocolate available to you that not only tastes great but is sustainably and ethically produced; access to a chocolate factory and a clever mind for business, creating Organic Times wasn’t so much an idea as an opportunity not to be missed.

Why is it important to you that your products/ingredients are certified organic?
To us, if it’s not certified organic than it’s not Organic. Being Certified Organic gives consumers the peace of mind that our products are produced following strict guidelines for best food practices that are better for our health and for our planet.

What is unique about your range of products?
When Organic Times was first established, many still saw organic products as purely health-foods.  For us, organic food is the healthier choice but also the best in quality, offering superior taste and flavour. 

We aim for our products to be better for you and our planet without compromising quality and taste.  We are all about making sustainable products available to everyone.  Products that we hope everyone can enjoy and love. The more people consume organic products the better for our planet as a whole.
In addition, our business uses recycled cardboard for our packaging and we do not use palm-oil as an ingredient in our products.

Which of your products are your “best-sellers” and what do you attribute this to?
Organic Times home-style cookies are one of our best sellers because they are made with only the best organic ingredients.  When you are baking with organic grass-fed butter, fair trade organic premium chocolate and fresh Australian organic nuts, what else can you expect but perfection. Our cookies are just like the ones you freshly baked at home when you are an excellent baker and use only top notch ingredients. That’s everyone right!!?
 
What other products do you have in your range?
We offer a large range of delicious organic and fair-trade chocolate products (Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Almonds, Coffee Beans, Hazelnuts, Ginger, Licorice, Macadamias and Sultanas; White Chocolate Raspberry Licorice; Little Gems – Candy coated chocolate buttons naturally flavoured and coloured using fruit and plant extracts; Easter Eggs and Bunnies) and premium ingredient products (Organic Rapadura and Icing Sugar; Cocoa and Carob Powders; Almond Meal) including Organic Grass-fed Salted and Unsalted butter.

Do you have any new products in the pipeline that we can look forward to?
We are always excited about the prospect of bringing out new products. We are hoping to release more chocolate products and more varieties of cookies.
